5th gen here we come by nooby-banana

EDIT: So the English names have been announced.

Tsutaja - Snivy
Pokabu - Tepig
Mijumaru - Oshawott

I dunno how I feel about them. How do you even pronounce "Tepig"? I keep thinking it's "teh pig". xD I like Snivy, but what word combo is Oshawott supposed to be?


So the 5th generation is finally upon us! And with a new generation of Pokemon comes a new set of starters, the pictures of which can be found right here: [link]

The grass type is Tsutaja, the fire type is Pokabu and the water type is Mijumaru, but their names will no doubt be Americanized for the US release.

I'll admit that when I first saw them I thought "...WTF is this shit?!" But after looking at them for a while... Actually, I think I still kinda thought the same thing. But it's not like I have anything against the actual DESIGN of it. I love the idea of a fire pig, a grass snake and a sea otter thing. It's just the way they're DRAWN. Especially poor Mijumaru... So much potential for cuteness down the drain!

So I tried to see if I could draw them a bit cuter while still keeping to the original design. Now they have a bit of actual anatomy, and hopefully Mijumaru looks a little better. xD

I'm a fan of the fire pig myself. I hope it evolves into some sort of badass boar!
